
Yesterday our 5th-grade students had a visit from Abington Police and one of their K9s named, Dude. The officers demonstrated how Dude, a search and rescue K9 performs his duties. After his demonstration, he had lots of love and attention given to him. Thank you to the Abington Police Force for all you do!





Our Abington Senior High School Class of 2024 is getting ready to graduate! Yesterday they returned to their old elementary schools for the annual Grad Walk, and then came back to campus to celebrate together at the Senior BBQ. #ASDProud #ASHS2024

Last night students in grades 3-5 performed their Spring concert in a packed gym under the direction of Mr. Shirk. Everyone looked and sounded fabulous!


Author Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow visited Willow Hill yesterday to read her books to our K-3rd graders. She shared her books "Your Name is a Song" and "Mommy's Khimar" with our students. Everyone loved her stories and loved hearing her answers to their questions.




On May 16 Willow Hill held its annual field day, led by Mr. Marinello. Mr. Marinello invited Major McFarland from the United States Marines to join his sons, who were the flag bearers for our opening ceremonies. Willow Hill thanked him for his service to our country.
All the students had a blast participating in the field day and we thank Mr. Marinello and all the parent and student volunteers for making it a success!







At last night's meeting of the Board of School Directors, the Teaching and Learning Department presented the 2024 Mathematics Achievement Awards, which recognize elementary and middle school students for their accomplishments in the Pennsylvania Statistics Poster Competition, the Mathematical Olympiads and the Continental Mathematics League Competition. WH hosted their annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday, May 14th. Students who won their class spelling bee competed for the title. Many congratulations to our winners, Gabriel Piedrahita a 5th grader in Mr. Tague's class, and Dylan Moroney, a 5th grade from Mrs.Langley's class. Willow Hill was well represented at the Math Awards at the School Board meeting last night. Grade 5 students; Evan Ly, Gabriel Piedraheta, Galvin Liu, Kristopher Still-Lodge, Madison Russ, Remy Chao-Hem, Zachary Lytle, and Jason Duong (not pictured) earned individual awards as well as the Meritorious Award and High Team Achievement Award.
Grade 3 students Maddie Noon and Aubrey Wexler were honored for excellent achievement in the Continental Math League Contest.



Cartoonist Jamar Nicholas visited Willow Hill's 4-5 graders on Monday, May 13. He talked about how perseverance got him to where he is today. He drew pictures with the students and signed their purchased copies of his books during his meet and greet. The students had so much fun!





On Friday, May 10 Willow Hill's PTO held our annual May Fair. Despite the weather moving the fair inside everyone had a blast! Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make it a success!





Dr. Jordan aka "Grill Master" showed off his skills and provided a themed ballpark lunch with burgers, dogs, and sausages to the Willow Hill staff this week for teacher appreciation.

Willow Hill's 5th-grade students celebrated their D.A.R.E. graduation today. Three students were selected for their essays using the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model, and how they plan to use what they have learned to make safe and responsible choices.
One student is selected as the recipient of Daren the Lion the mascot of D.A.R.E. each year, a student is selected to be the recipient of the DAREN lion. This student is selected based on their courage and strength to make the right choice, even when that is a difficult choice.
