
At last night's Board meeting, Ms. Susan McCarthy, Interim Principal of Abington Senior High School, and Ms. Casey Chakler, Coordinator of Student Support Services, recognized 20 ASHS students who have been identified as semifinalists, commended or special scholar students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Of the 20 students, one is a semifinalist, 11 are commended, one is a special scholar, seven are National African American Recognition Program Scholars, one is a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar, and one is a National Indigenous Recognition Program Scholar, as designated by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Abington students are currently taking part in the Anti-Defamation League's Anti-Bias Peer Training to learn how to handle bias and prejudice in their communities. #ASDProud




Please join us on Friday, January 26th for the 50th Anniversary of the Abington High School State Championship win, featuring the 1974 Abington state champion basketball team. They brought home the win after beating Peabody High School, final score of 53 to 48. These men are an outstanding example of the Ghosts legacy. As we honor these incredible men let us reminisce, reconnect, and revel in the memories that forged the path to this amazing accomplishment. Together, let’s commemorate the teamwork and dedication that led to the state championship 5 decades ago.

This week, Mr. Kennedy's Law students held a mock trial to exercise skills they learned in class in a case, People vs. Larson. Students were able to use their prowess to examine/cross examine witnesses and finalize their case. Congratulations to all involved! #ASDStudents
