
Track and Field Interest Meeting
Are you in 7th or 8th grade and interested in participating in Track and Field this Spring? The Boys and Girls Track and Field teams will be holding a mandatory interest meeting on Friday, March 1st in the Main Gym Area from 3:15pm to 4:00pm. Please arrange for your transportation to pick you up at 4:00 or be prepared to take the 4:15 bus home. You can find the Google Classroom QR Codes on flyers throughout the building, please join the Google Classroom prior to the meeting. If you have any questions, reach out to Mrs. Long, Mrs. Collins or Mrs. Helm

Softball Interests Meeting
8th Grade Softball will be having our interest meeting immediately after school on March 4th in room 157. Any 8th grader interested in playing should plan to attend. More information can be found in our Google Classroom.

Attention all students: Today is the big day! We will be holding our first K- Pop club meeting after school in room 240. We will be doing fun activities all connected to K-Pop and Korean culture. Ms. Anthony and the Dance Team joined up with AMS Buddies Club for their second annual Buddies Club Dance Party! The Dance Team taught everyone the AMS shuffle and debuted their dance routine! The group had some time to talk and have some pretzels while they waited for their buses.







Due to the inclement weather, all Abington School District schools and offices will be closed today, February 13, 2024. As this is our third emergency closure due to weather, there will be no instruction for students.


Beginning Monday February 5th the library will start requiring students to have their IDs with them during Advisory. If you were issued an ID and have lost it you may purchase a new one in the 8th grade office for $8.

Attention AMS! The yearbook is sponsoring a DISPLAY THE DECADES SPIRIT DAY on Friday February 2. Staff and Students are invited to dress in clothes from their favorite decade! You could be a flapper from the 1920's, a Hippy from the 60's or even a Breakdancer from the 80's. Be creative and have fun with it! Prizes will be awarded to the top costumes from each grade.
We hope this gets you excited to see your 2024 Yearbook theme "REWIND THE YEAR." Don't forget-yearbook orders are due THIS WEEK! TADA:
Signups are underway for TADA's MOVIE NIGHT! The film we are showing is posted in the TADA Google Classroom along with the date and time. That evening we will also have an intermission where students can participate in a movie trivia contest to win prizes! The cost to sign up is $2 - put the money in an envelope with your FIRST & LAST NAME AND GRADE LEVEL.
Students can sign up at the following locations:
Ms. O'Connor will be in COMMONS B from 7:30-8:00 AM on the mornings of Tuesday 1/30 & Wednesday 1/31.
TADA Office - Room 363A - the TADA office door has a locked drop box that you can put your envelope in at any time.
Room 217 - Mr. Durand's classroom during advisory or after school.

8th grade AMS students:
This Friday will be the 8th Grade Dance from 6:30pm - 8pm in the gym. Tickets are $5.00 each. If you would like to purchase a ticket to the dance, please see your Teacher Team Leader any day this week. Only cash will be accepted for payment. You can dress casually for this dance; however, please wear appropriate attire as you would on a normal school day. A bottle of water and pretzel are included in your ticket purchase.

Our next School Beautification Meeting will be on Tuesday, January 30th in room C59. We will meet from 3-4pm.

REMINDER: The next Arts in ASD parent/guardian group meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7pm in the AMS Little Theater. The meeting will focus on the visual arts with a presentation from Dr. Matthew Harris and Ms. Nicole Caracciolo, Curriculum Lead for K-12 Art. #ArtsinASD


We are saddened to share that one of our Abington Middle School science teachers, Mr. Paul Sharp, who is also an alumnus, lost his home in a fire yesterday. Thankfully, no one was hurt, though the next few days and weeks will undoubtedly be challenging for Mr. Sharp and his family.
