Last week, author Lowey Bundy Sichol presented to students at Willow Hill, discussing her enlightening "From an Idea to…" book series. During the session, she shared stories of entrepreneurship and described how iconic companies such as LEGO, Nike, and Google blossomed from a mere concept.

On Wednesday, Willow Hill Elementary School celebrated Black History Month by participating in the 35th Annual National African American Read-in, where students formed a human reading chain from one end of the school to the other. #ASDProud
Willow Hill students participated in the 35th National African-American Read-In. The first African-American Read-In was sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English in 1990. The goal is to make the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities. Willow Hill students and teachers joined over 6 million readers of all ethnic groups, from 49 states, the West Indies, and African countries in reading books by African American authors and illustrators.
