Thank you so much Ms Mafaru for speaking at Abington Senior High. She explained to students about her job as sa senior loss inspector and the steps in life she took to get to that position. Ms Mafura interested many studenst with her wide knowlege in the STEM pathways and what that can lead to for jobs and such in the future.

In March, the National English Honor Society had the pleasure of welcoming two distinguished guest speakers: Mr. Alessandro Reale and Dr. Lynne Dorfmann. Mr. Reale offered students an inside look at his writing process and his experiences as an author of young adult fiction, highlighting the creativity and discipline behind his craft. Dr. Dorfmann shared insights from her multifaceted career in writing and education, tracing the path that shaped her professional journey. Abington's Quilting Club recently completed its 2nd annual donation of 50 handmade bunnies to a local charity supporting children in foster care! In addition, they assembled 50 cupcake decorating kits to bring a little extra joy. A big thank you to Mr. Reese Gibbs for spending part of his day here at Abington Senior High! He spoke to the students about his work as a recreation officer at Alverthorpe Park. On March 12th and 13th, our Red Cross Club had its 10th grade Arrive Alive! The Red Cross Club took the students through different stations to teach them about seatbelt safety. We would like to give a huge thanks to Ashley Zucker, an Assistant Professor in the Cytotechnology and Cell Sciences Program at Thomas Jefferson University and cytologist at Fox Chase Cancer Center, for coming to Abington Senior High School to share her story with our students. She shared what sparked her initial interest in cytology and helped explain and show students what a job within the cytology field consisted of by bringing slides and showing what her tasks are like. She also gave advice to our students and explained what it was like working in the medical field. Her story was very touching and helped encourage students who are interested in her work.
