Thanks to the hard work of our students and the generosity of our community, AbingThon raised $1,378.65 to support our efforts. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who volunteered, donated, and helped make the event such a success.

It was a fun (and delicious!) way to wrap up a semester spent learning new culinary techniques and exploring the rich flavors, ingredients, and food traditions found across the United States. We are #AbingtonProud #ASHSProud #FirstinAcademics

COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT!
Commencement for the Class of 2026 will proceed as planned, starting tonight at 6 p.m.
There has been a slight change to the procession schedule, which will now begin at 5:15 p.m., rather than 5:45 p.m. Graduates should still plan to arrive to the Abington Senior High School Auditorium at 4:30 p.m.
We look forward to celebrating our Class of 2026 and this significant academic milestone tonight!

It was a walk down memory lane today for our Class of 2026 as they participated in the annual Grad Walk celebration at all seven elementary schools and Abington Middle School! #ASDProud #ASHS2026

The Abington Senior High Art Department is proud to share that 150 Abington artists participated in the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Teen Art Exhibition, "A Future of Artists". An opening reception was held on Sunday, June 7th, which was well attended by our students' families, and the exhibit will be on display until August 28th.
Students in Ms. Caracciolo’s Art 2 classes followed the character design prompt inspired by artist Cindy Lozito, and students in Ms. Elcin and Ms. Weber’s Drawing classes followed a landscape prompt inspired by artist Andrew Christman to create artwork on a 5x7 postcard. Their work joined a display of over 600 postcards from area high school students.
Special recognition should be given to 9th grader Anna Li, who also had 2 paintings and a quilt on display from her participation in the Winter and Spring sessions of the PMA's Saturday Art Classes.
Please check out the slideshow (click the link or copy and paste into your browser) to view their work or plan a visit over the summer to see their work in person! The gallery is adjacent to the lobby of the PMA's North entrance. Congratulations to our Abington artists! We are #AbingtonProud #ASHSProud #FirstintheArts

One senior shared, "It feels like Dr. Wormley is graduating with us. You were more than just a principal—you were a mentor, role model, and an amazing leader."
As an Abington graduate herself, Dr. Wormley brought a unique perspective to her role as principal, combining her educational experience and leadership expertise with a deep appreciation for the school community. She helped guide students, staff, and families through many important milestones, including the transition to Abington's first 9–12 high school model. For the Class of 2026—the first class to spend all four years in the 9–12 building—Dr. Wormley has been a constant presence from their first day as freshmen to their final days as seniors. Faculty and staff have also valued Dr. Wormley's steady support, thoughtful guidance, and commitment to helping both students and colleagues succeed.
Congratulations on your retirement, Dr. Wormley, and thank you for the lasting impact you have made on Abington Senior High School. Your leadership, dedication, and care have touched countless lives, and your influence will continue to be felt long after your retirement. We wish you happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in this next chapter. ♥️🤍👻

It was a beautiful night to send off our Seniors at the annual Senior Sunset Event! Shine bright, Class of 2026! #ASDProud #ASHS2026

Friday was the first Student showcase for Fashion Design and Merchandising. Students spent the semester working on various projects that would fit into their storefront windows. On Friday, they invited staff and friends to view their collections. Everyone was very impressed by the students' creations. We are #AbingtonProud #ASHSProud #FirstinAcademics

Mr. Detato, ASHS' band teacher, has decided to solidify his retirement after 26 years at ASHS.
His students describe him best: "Mr. Detato has truly been one of the best band teachers ASHS has had over the years, and as a band director, he has been the best mentor and friend anyone could have asked for. The seniors of the Marching Ghosts, Jazz band, and Concert/Symphonic Bands want to thank him for some of the best years we have ever had. He has truly inspired us to pursue music and performance in more ways than we could ever imagine, and we are so grateful to have had him as a mentor. It's been wonderful, and we can't wait to use the skills you have taught us in the real world."
Mr. Detato has told his students that he will still be around to support them and that if he is not there in person, he will be there in spirit, continuing to cheer on his favorite people. Congratulations to Mr. Detato and best wishes on a restful retirement!
