The Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is open to all parents/guardians of students with IEPs or 504 plans in ASD. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. in the Copper Beech Library on October 6, November 3, January 12 and April 13.

Calling all readers! The ASD Reads! poster campaign is expanding for the 2025-2026 school year, and we want to feature our students' love of reading on social media! Overlook celebrated Start With Hello week last week as students learned the skills to reach out to and include other children experiencing social isolation. Our entire Overlook community aims to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within each classroom and throughout our school!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to limited registrations, it is necessary to postpone this event to a future date.

Community organizations and local mental health experts will lead a discussion about mental health and wellness among our area’s youth and young adults, including how to identify signs of distress, how to support them in maintaining healthy mindsets, what you can do to help during times of a mental health crisis, and social-emotional resources that are available right in our own backyards. The free event is sponsored by the Abington Community Taskforce (ACT) in partnership with Citizens and Police Together (CAPT) and Penn State Abington.

Join the Student Services Department for a new virtual series of parent seminars, hosted by the Elementary Counseling team. These seminars are designed to orient families to the services and supports that are offered by school counselors. To close out the 2024-2025 school year, Overlook held a new event, the "Prevent the Summer Slide Resource Fair" for K-2 students. Families received a free summer workbook and chose free books to read throughout the summer. The @abingtonlibrary was present to enroll families in their summer reading programs and provide information about virtual field trips and free museum days in the Philadelphia area. Students and guardians also had the opportunity to log into their i-Ready paths to continue learning over the summer. The night was a huge success! #ASDProud #ASDReads
