At Overlook and Willow Hill elementary schools, students and staff celebrated Black History Month with a visit from award-winning author and historian, Ms. Alice Faye Duncan, whose nationally acclaimed books combine historical research with poetry and music as a means of introducing children to the efforts of Civil Rights icons, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Blues legend BB King, and Olympic champion Willie B. On Friday, January 16th, Overlook celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through song, poetry, sign language, and by sharing an overall message of tolerance and love. Students and staff were even able to enjoy a visit from author Alice Faye Duncan.

Congratulations to Abington Middle School for being recognized today by the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support (PaPBS) Network for meeting criteria for implementing School-Wide (SWPBIS) Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports with fidelity during the 2024-2025 school year! REMINDER: Now through the end of March, everyone who shops at the GIANT on Susquehanna Road in Roslyn will be invited to round up at the register to support Feeding School Kids in ASD! Donations are used by the Student Services Department to purchase GIANT gift cards, which are distributed by our social workers directly to families in need in order to help supplement the cost of their groceries.

From January 1 through March 31, everyone who shops at the GIANT on Susquehanna Road in Roslyn will be invited to “round up” at the register and donate the round-up amount of their bill to support Feeding School Kids. At the end of March, all round-up donations will be tallied and donated to Abington School District. Donations have been used by the Student Services Department to purchase GIANT gift cards that are distributed by our social workers directly to our families in need in order to help supplement the cost of their groceries.

All Abington School District Schools will open on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, December 15, 2025, due to weather conditions.
Students are to report to their bus stops or schools two hours later than their usually scheduled time. Before-school care provided by the YMCA will not operate.
