
Attention all AMS students: If you love to dance and perform, this is the club for you! The AMS Dance Team is a chance for students in Grades 6 through 8 to get moving, have fun, and meet new people. No prior dance experience is necessary. Each week, we will work on a routine that will be performed for the school. If you are interested, complete the Dance Team Interest Form. 20 students will be randomly selected. You will receive an invite for the Google Classroom after names are selected. AMS Dance Team will be held on Wednesdays from November through February.

BANDS IN THE BONEYARD:
The ASHS Marching Ghosts are hosting our annual "Bands in the Boneyard" this Saturday, October 28 in Schwarzmann Stadium. There are 5 bands performing and the event goes from 5:45-7:15 PM. The weather forecast is looking perfect for a nice fall night!

WRESTLING TEAM:
Any 7th or 8th grade students who would like to join the wrestling team in December should plan to attend an interest meeting after school on Thursday November 2nd in room P102. You should also immediately begin submitting your PIAA health forms on the Planet HS / Big Teams website. Information about this process can be found on the middle school athletics webpage.

RED RIBBON WEEK: Happy Red Ribbon Week!. Staying drug free means investing in your current and future health. You don’t have to use drugs to fit in. There are other ways to belong. Celebrate your uniqueness and show it to the world. Tomorrow’s theme is “Wake Up Drug Free.” Wear neon/bright colors.

Next week, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. This is a special campaign designed to encourage participation in drug prevention education and activities. This year’s theme is “Be Kind to You Mind. Live Drug Free!”. The theme is a call to action to speak out in support of healthy choices. It also serves as a reminder that we are all empowered with shaping the communities around us through positivity, bravery and strength. You are encouraged to show your support by wearing red on Monday and participating in the theme days throughout the rest of the week.

In observation of Bullying Prevention Month, students in grade 5 at Copper Beech and grade 8 at Abington Middle School attended an assembly led by educators and public speakers, Mr. Alhassan Susso and Dr. Josue Falaise, who spoke about bullying prevention and respect, the October theme of the Abington Pledge of Character. The presentation, "Turning Adversity into Opportunity," engaged students with a variety of stories to increase their awareness around developing and maintaining positive relationships, treating each other with kindness and respect, and the purpose of valuing diversity. #ASDProud
