Attention AMS! The yearbook is sponsoring a DISPLAY THE DECADES SPIRIT DAY on Friday February 2. Staff and Students are invited to dress in clothes from their favorite decade! You could be a flapper from the 1920's, a Hippy from the 60's or even a Breakdancer from the 80's. Be creative and have fun with it! Prizes will be awarded to the top costumes from each grade. We hope this gets you excited to see your 2024 Yearbook theme "REWIND THE YEAR." Don't forget-yearbook orders are due THIS WEEK! TADA: Signups are underway for TADA's MOVIE NIGHT! The film we are showing is posted in the TADA Google Classroom along with the date and time. That evening we will also have an intermission where students can participate in a movie trivia contest to win prizes! The cost to sign up is $2 - put the money in an envelope with your FIRST & LAST NAME AND GRADE LEVEL. Students can sign up at the following locations: Ms. O'Connor will be in COMMONS B from 7:30-8:00 AM on the mornings of Tuesday 1/30 & Wednesday 1/31. TADA Office - Room 363A - the TADA office door has a locked drop box that you can put your envelope in at any time. Room 217 - Mr. Durand's classroom during advisory or after school.

8th grade AMS students: This Friday will be the 8th Grade Dance from 6:30pm - 8pm in the gym. Tickets are $5.00 each. If you would like to purchase a ticket to the dance, please see your Teacher Team Leader any day this week. Only cash will be accepted for payment. You can dress casually for this dance; however, please wear appropriate attire as you would on a normal school day. A bottle of water and pretzel are included in your ticket purchase.

Our next School Beautification Meeting will be on Tuesday, January 30th in room C59. We will meet from 3-4pm.

REMINDER: The next Arts in ASD parent/guardian group meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7pm in the AMS Little Theater. The meeting will focus on the visual arts with a presentation from Dr. Matthew Harris and Ms. Nicole Caracciolo, Curriculum Lead for K-12 Art. #ArtsinASD

We are saddened to share that one of our Abington Middle School science teachers, Mr. Paul Sharp, who is also an alumnus, lost his home in a fire yesterday. Thankfully, no one was hurt, though the next few days and weeks will undoubtedly be challenging for Mr. Sharp and his family. We ask that you keep Mr. Sharp in your thoughts during this time. All Abington School District schools will open on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, January 17. Students are to report to their bus stops or schools two hours later than their usually scheduled time. The YMCA will not provide morning care.

Abington School District schools and offices will be closed today, January 16, 2024. As a reminder, this first closure will be observed as a traditional emergency closing day for students and staff, which means there will be no instruction.

Due to the weather forecast, all Abington School District schools will open on a two-hour delay tomorrow, January 16. Students are to report to their bus stops or schools two hours later than their usually scheduled time. The YMCA will not provide morning care.

All Abington School District schools will open on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, January 10. Students are to report to their bus stops or schools two hours later than their usually scheduled time. Before-school care provided by the YMCA will also operate on a delayed schedule.

Ms. Spike and Ms. Shangle's class hand-made candles today! Students helped to melt the wax, insert the wicks in the jars, thread the wick through the wooden stick to help the wick stay in place, and pour the melted wax into the jars as the final touch. They had a great time smelling the scents that were added to the candle wax. Look at their creations!
