
#SummerinASD: Nolan (AMS 7th), Alex (Rydal 5th), and Molly Wertman (Rydal 5th) visited Toronto and Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. They took tours of the CN Tower in Toronto, and the Skylon Tower and Falls in Niagara Falls.



Charlie and Maddyn Duncan (4th and 2nd grades, Copper Beech Elementary), enjoyed watching dolphins on the Cape May Whale Watcher while on vacation down the shore! #SummerinASD



#SummerinASD: Harlee Moore, 2nd grader at Highland Elementary, went to see the Washington Mystics of the WNBA play at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C.


#SummerinASD: This summer, Sammy and Ryan Leech (3rd & 1st Grade, Copper Beech) went on their first cruise to the Bahamas!


Kenadie Leaks, AMS 8th Grader, is a Girl Scout Cadette. Kenadie learned all about horses for one week at Camp Laughing Waters. #SummerinASD



#SummerinASD: Paige and Evan Sacony (Grades 1 and 4, Roslyn Elementary) spent their summer vacation in Colorado! They visited Garden of the Gods, drove up Pikes Peak, and climbed the steps of Red Rocks Amphitheater!



#SummerinASD: Emma (9th, ASHS), Henry and Alexis (4th & 1st, Overlook) explored Washington Crossing State Park. They saw the battle encampment and George Washington's headquarters, and found it interesting that the handrail on the stairs is the original one that Washington used!



Keane (7th, AMS), Avery and Declan Welsh (4th & 2nd grades, Highland) enjoyed the view of the city from the observation deck of the Empire State Building while they were visiting NYC. #SummerinASD


Rising AMS 6th grader Audrey, and CB kindergartener Katie, recently visited London before heading to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. #SummerinASD


Rydal 4th grader Emma Donahue recently placed 11th in the National Irish Dance Competition in Nashville, TN! After the competition, Emma celebrated with her best friend (4th, Copper Beech), her grandmother, and her godmother Mrs. McAleer, a teacher at Copper Beech. #SummerinASD

#SummerinASD: Lindsey McFarland, Willow Hill 5th grader, just moved here a year ago from Japan. She and her family have spent the summer exploring Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City. Howling Woods Farms, NJ, was their recent weekend adventure.

#SummerinASD: Avery Jordan (2nd, Roslyn), Macayla Drum (10th, ASHS), and Lucas Jordan (8th, AMS) spent time this summer in Tennessee, where they enjoyed a rooftop dinner overlooking downtown Nashville. Avery had the opportunity to ride on a float pulled by a boat on Douglas Lake!



Each month AACT (American Association of Chemistry Teachers) spotlights a passionate member who is dedicated to enhancing chemistry inside and outside the classroom. This month, in the spotlight is Mr. Ryan Williams, ASHS Chemistry and AP Chemistry teacher! #ASDProud #SummerinASD


#SummerinASD: Ava and Max Hergenroeder (4th and 2nd, Highland) are of Osage and Quapaw descent. They celebrated their First Nations heritage at the 52nd Annual Kihekah Steh Pow Wow in Skaitook, OK. Ava danced in the Grand Entry to honor a deceased tribal elder and family member.



Ms. Goldberg, AMS Librarian, spent July in Africa. Her adventures included standing at the top of Fish River Canyon in Namibia, seeing elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, lions and zebra at Chobe National Park in Botswana, and swimming in the falls in Zambia! #SummerinASD
