Abington School District is currently seeking applicants for the 2026 ESY - Extended School Year Program. Positions include Teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, School Nurse, and Substitutes. Applicants must be available to work for the entire duration of the program, June 29 through July 30. Professional Staff hours are from 8 am to 12 pm, Monday through Thursday. Applicants who do not have full availability may apply for a substitute position in the program. With the help of the Red Cross Club, ASHS seniors learned the dangers of impaired and distracted driving while attending the "Arrive Alive" program last week.





Rydal Elementary hosted John Patrick Green, writer and illustrator of the "InvestiGators" middle-grade graphic novel series, as well as, the early reader graphic novels "Hippopotamister" and the "Kitten Construction Company" duology. #ASDProud #ASDReads



Spanish students, chaperoned by Señora Mirabal and Señora Colon, traveled to New York City to see a play called “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao”, based on the book written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Diaz. Students enjoyed a day immersed in Dominican culture! #ASDProud









Thirty-four ASHS students participated in the 2026 PA Art Educator Association's Youth Art Month online exhibition, four of whom were selected as winners: Emily Gable, Alexa Herwig, McKenzy Wade and Diego Franco. World Language students from Abington Senior High competed against other Montgomery County public and private schools at the annual MCATFL Oral Proficiency Contest. Gold and Silver medal winners included Patrick Pelosi, Juliet Bartner, and Yulee Murphy for Chinese, and Jason Woodruff and Autumn Wilkins for German. Other contestants who participated were: Zohra Tagziria for Spanish, Camelia Florea, Emelia Anderson, and Faith Blitchford for French, Alexis Wallen, Molly McNeill, Gemma Tait, Penn Weitzel, Alexandra Lahiff, Jaeda Raja, Jason Woodruff, and Autumn Wilkins for German, and Patrick Pelosi, Daniel Tokar, Rosalie Milano, Alexander Cossrow, Juliet Bartner, and Yulee Murphy for Chinese. ASHS Spanish 3 students, chaperoned by Señora Mirabal and Señora Salas-Wert, recently learned Latin dancing at Flaco’s Dance Factory in Jenkintown, followed by an authentic Mexican lunch at Provecho in Huntingdon Valley. It was an enriching cultural experience for all! #ASDProud
