Since the entire Abington School District community couldn't make it out to Manchester for last week's state championship soccer game, the ASHS Boys Varsity Soccer team brought the celebration to our schools today! The players and coaches went on a victory tour around the district, visiting all seven elementary schools and the Middle School, where they had an opportunity to high-five their fans and sign autographs for the younger students. #ASDProud

Thank you to our staff, students, families and community members who have contributed to our districtwide food drive thus far! Well over 800 items, from canned goods, to boxed foods, paper products, toiletries and baby care supplies have been donated directly to ASD families, as well as to community food pantries across our immediate area. The Administration Building's collection continues into next week if you would still like to contribute! #ASDProud

A day of celebration for our very own Dr. Jordan! The entire school gathered in the gym to surprise him for his 50th. John, the bus driver from Bus 56, also made an appearance with his bagpipes and played Happy Birthday while the children sang along! Dr. Jordan had many special visitors throughout the day! Thank you to all for helping decorate the walls with all kinds of signs and cards. It is sure to be a day he will not forget!

Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed at today's annual Elementary Track Meet at Schwarzman Stadium! This event serves as another opportunity for our 4th and 5th graders to gather with their peers from the other elementary schools before they transition to the Middle School, all while engaging in a day of friendly competition.

Today was the first meeting of the school year for the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council, in which two representatives from each school routinely meet with Dr. Fecher and Dr. Melchor to share their thoughts and experiences from across the district. Dr. Fecher also gave the students an assignment to go to their peers and ask for any feedback that should be brought to the next council meeting. #ASDProud

CR@abington.k12.pa.us. Please include their name, school, and the book's title, which we will feature on ASD social media channels as their very own ASD Reads! comic-book-style poster. #ASDReads #ASDProud
