Mental health and bullying prevention expert, Tom Thelen, spoke with grades 6-7 and 9-10 today. He will have a program for all parents and guardians tonight at 7pm at ASHS. Watch live on our YouTube channel, or the recording through Sept. 29.
The ASHS Counseling Department will host a Virtual College Information Night on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 starting at 6pm. The topic for this session is "Completing the College Application Process". Parents and students in grades 11 and 12 will benefit from the content, which focuses on the process of successfully submitting a college application. Last week, over 115 Juniors and Seniors in the Link Crew reported to school to train and prepare for the Class of 2027 orientation, which occurred yesterday. SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, Sept. 14, 6-7 p.m. at the ASHS Auditorium! Tom Thelen, lead author of Mental Health 101 for Teens and founder of Reset Schools, will be speaking at a special event for parents and guardians. Reset Schools is a nonprofit that teaches practical mental health skills and resiliency. Since 2012, Tom has spoken at over 800 schools and conferences, and has been featured on PBS, CBS, and NBC.
Willkommen! 38 Abington students of German and their families excitedly greeted their 45 German exchange partners from Karlsgymnasium in the Bavarian town of Bad Reichenhall, accompanied by their teachers, Cornelia Grabichler and Johannes Kindermann. It was a joyful reunion for 30 of the Abington students, who had visited their partners in Germany six weeks ago. The Abington students are looking forward to giving their German partners the insider's perspective on the life of an American high school student for the next three weeks by attending class, football games, and touring the area.
