Students in Mrs. Hatton's 1st grade class visited Mr. Hoag's 5th grade class to read a chapter from "Kenny and the Dragon". What a fun way to kick-off the first week of our One School, One Book initiative!

Our annual One School, One Book initiative kicked off this week! The library was transformed to welcome our guests into the world of our story, "Kenny and the Dragon". Our guest readers were then escorted to different classrooms to read the first chapter of the book to our eager students. The excitement from our morning filled the halls all day!

Rydal celebrated our new word of the month for March-- ENCOURAGMENT! Students and staff gathered together to brainstorm ways to encourage each other all month long. Congratulations to all of our raffle winners and student of the month winners! Keep doing amazing things!

Rydal's 5th graders had a special visit from the high school's FAAD Club (Friends Against Alcohol and Drugs). The high schoolers were able to work with the classes to do activities and put on skits that demonstrated avoiding peer pressure! Everyone had an awesome time!

Just in time for Read Across America Week, celebrated March 2-6, 2025, Abington School District Is launching a new poster campaign called “ASD Reads!”, designed to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among students of all ages.
With more than 100 unique designs that will be displayed across the District’s 10 school buildings, bus garage and Administration Building, the poster artwork features staff members districtwide, including teachers, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants, bus drivers, custodians, administrators and more. School directors were also included in the campaign. All of the featured personnel were photographed holding their favorite book so that they can share this personal fun fact about themselves with students.
“ASD Reads!” posters will be displayed throughout each school, from libraries and cafeterias, to hallways and classrooms, beginning this week. For more information, and a full album of all the poster designs, visit https://www.abingtonsd.org/article/2043291. #ASDProud #ASDReads #ReadAcrossAmerica
