History came to life at the 3rd grade Wax Museum! Students dressed as famous figures and shared their stories while classmates explored the “exhibits.” From scientists and inventors to athletes and world leaders, the variety was incredible!

Teachers suited up in hilarious inflatable costumes and raced in a spirited relay as students lined the sidelines, cheering wildly! This event marked the fun-filled culmination of our One School, One Book initiative—bringing our whole school community together through laughter, teamwork, and a shared love of reading.

Rydal's 5th graders were so fortunate to have a special guest today, Holocaust survivor Sarah Meller. Students listen intently as Sarah shared her powerful story of resilience and remembrance.

Attention 5th Grade Families: Due to the forecasted rain for tomorrow, May 14th, a decision has been made to move 5th Grade CommUNITY Day to the scheduled rain date of May 15th. Please plan to have your student arrive at school in their Class T-shirt and sneakers on Thursday instead.
We are keeping an eye on the weather, and if, in consultation with our meteorology service provider, the forecast looks as if we need to reschedule again, we will identify a new date and communicate that information to you tomorrow.
Yesterday was the final meeting for the 2024-2025 school year of the Superintendent's Committee for Positive School Climate and Culture. Thank you to our school teams and community members for dedicating your time to the committee this year!

Rydal 's amazing artists were featured at Abington's annual Art Show! Stellar artists were selected to have their artwork on display for all to admire. The creativity and hard work was evident in every piece. We are so excited to celebrate our young artists! Way to go!

Rydal East Elementary School is currently experiencing an internet outage that is impacting all network and telephone systems. If you need to contact a Rydal staff member at this time, please contact the Community Relations Department at 215-881-2570. All systems at Rydal West remain operational.
Our monthly assembly was filled with surprises! On top of the announcement of our student-of-the-month winners and raffle winners, Rydal's Boosterthon reward took place. Because we surpassed our goal, the top earners from each class got to silly string Dr. Morgan, Ms. Corbett, and Dr. Watkins! The whole school cheered and celebrated the fun!

The 28th Annual Abington Arts Fest, where students' creative works will be on display, will be held in the Administration Building gymnasium on Monday and Tuesday, April 14 and 15, from 1-6:30 pm. Come celebrate the #ArtsinASD with selected pieces from students in grades K-12!

Parker "Basketball" Jones brought lots of energy to Rydal! The whole school was involved as we fine-tuned our listening skills, practiced taking our time, and learned that practice and failure are essential in getting better at something. We had so much fun learning that it's okay to make mistakes because we may not know how to do something...YET.
