Yesterday was the Opening Day for the 2026-2027 school year and the theme "All In for All Students", focused on equity and inclusion. All ASD teachers and support staff were welcomed back with a presentation from keynote speaker, Katie Jameson, whose session, "Side by Side", provided a comparative look at inclusion through two different lenses in the same education system, based on her experiences as a mom of twins -- one of whom has Down Syndrome and Autism. Afterward, school teams broke out into reflective circles to discuss what they learned and how it can be applied to their classrooms. Later in the afternoon, the Montgomery County Department of School Safety and Abington Township Police Department provided safety and security training to all attendees. #ASDProud #OneASD #Back2SchoolASD
