
STARTING TODAY: We are enabling a new function of our Thrillshare mass communication system that can automatically translate communications into a parent/guardian's preferred language. Any changes to your language preference for school communications can be made by calling the main office of your student's school.

AMS Dance Team:
If you love to dance and perform, this is the club for you! The AMS Dance Team is a chance for students in Grades 6 through 8 to get moving, have fun, and meet new people. No prior dance experience is necessary. Each week, we will work on a routine that will be performed for the school. If you are interested, complete the Dance Team Interest Form. 20 students will be randomly selected. You will receive an invite for the Google Classroom after names are selected. AMS Dance Team will be held on Wednesdays from November through February.

ALL AMS STUDENTS:
M4 invites all AMS students to attend the Philadelphia Flyers game on Tuesday, November 28 at the Wells Fargo Center against the Carolina Hurricanes. We are also inviting students to attend the Philadelphia 76ers game on January 22 against the San Antonio Spurs. The cost is $50 for one game and $90 for both. There will be M4 bands playing on the Wells Fargo Center Concourse. Come to M5 and get a form from Mr. Aguilar if you are interested. Sales for the Flyers will close November 20, and for the Sixers will be January 12.

STUDENT COUNCIL:
Student Council is sponsoring the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are collecting canned and boxed goods to benefit families in our Abington community as the holiday season approaches. Collection locations are Ms. Cantwell's room (157), Mr. Mingacci's room (325), and the cart in the front lobby. The collection will run from October 18th (10/18) through November 10th (11/10). We thank you in advance for your support!

ALL AMS STUDENTS:
IDs - Students should wear their IDs at all times in the building. they should also be available to bus drivers and sub bus drivers if you take the bus. This is a safety item for our school and we need everyone's help. Remember, it is cool to wear your ID!

Attention Builder's Club: Our first meeting will be this Thursday, October 12 after school in Commons B. We are excited to start doing service with you.

6th Grade Activity Night will take place this Friday, October 13th from 6:30 to 8pm. Students must present their student ID to participate.

TADA:
Attention 8th Grade TADA Members!!! Signups will start today for our field trip to the Valley of Fear on Friday, October 27th. Please see our post in the TADA Google Classroom for the permission form that you need to get filled out and signed by a parent or guardian. If you need a printed copy of the permission form you can get one from the bulletin board outside the TADA Office in Room 363A, Ms. O'Connor, or Mr. Durand.
Please return the completed permission form and the $40 for the trip in a sealed envelope with your first and last name written on it.
You can sign-up in the following locations:
Ms. O'Connor will be in Commons B on Tuesday morning (October 10th) from 7:30 AM -8:00 AM to take sign-ups.
Room 363A - the TADA office door has a locked drop box in the door that you can put your envelope in at ANY TIME OF DAY.
Again, this trip is only for TADA members in 8th grade.

M4 MEETING: The first M4 meeting of the year will be Thursday October 5 in the Little Theater. M4 is a program for students who want to make modern music. We will be learning guitar, keyboard, drums, and songwriting/composing. Over time you will work with your classmates to form musical groups, and there will be a few performance opportunities throughout the year. M4 is led by Mr. Aguilar and Mr. Longwill.
