Last week, ASHS Spanish Level 3 students visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where they completed a scavenger hunt in search of Spanish and Latin American artists, and later they enjoyed a delicious traditional meal at Tierra Colombiana. #ASDProud

Winter is coming! Inclement weather procedures for the 2024-2025 school year have been emailed to parents/guardians and teachers and staff. Please familiarize yourself with our plans in the event weather conditions warrant an early dismissal, late arrival or school closure.


This week, the ASHS PTO sponsored a Winter Pop-Up Shop. Student entrepreneurs sold handmade items, crafts and more, while M3 provided music for shoppers. Thanks to all who made this event possible, especially the student entrepreneurs for offering unique gifts for the holidays! #ASDProud

At their December meeting, members of Roslyn Best Buddies designed "Secret Snowman" gifts to exchange with another Best Buddies Chapter in the Philadelphia region. #ASDProud





Today, Chartwells brought "Let's Get Cooking" to Overlook Elementary, featuring tasty recipes that are simple to make! While a few students sampled the Honey Roasted Root Vegetables, Overlook students overwhelmingly gave the Apple Cherry Cobbler the thumbs up! #OneASDOneFuture

This week, students from ASHS, along with other area high schools, joined the MCIU’s Dreaming Forward initiative. Sessions focused on building self-awareness and relationship skills, making responsible and impactful decisions, and cultivating and leveraging leadership. #ASDProud





First graders in Ms. Kleban’s class at Roslyn Elementary read the story, “Balloons Over Broadway”, which covered the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students brainstormed, designed, and even created their very own “floats” before the holiday! #ASDProud

Yesterday, representatives of various sectors of the offices of Montgomery County spoke to ASHS seniors about career opportunities that are available to them through the county — some of which do not require a college degree and allow for a great deal of professional growth. #ASDProud






Copper Beech Elementary kindergarten students hosted a Friendsgiving celebration the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. The kindergarteners enjoyed sharing snacks, making crafts, and creating a huge Friendsgiving banner together! #ASDProud








Thank you to our STRIVE students and Fruit Ninjas from Abington Senior High School for helping to load produce donations from the Administration Building to give to the Willow Grove Baptist Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving. Mr. Rick Beyerle, the food pantry's coordinator, told students their efforts benefit approximately 200 families in our immediate area. #ASDProud #DontWasteDonate









Last week Overlook hosted Title I Families' Night. Students in grades K-2 and their families participated in ELA and Math workshops led by the reading specialists, school counselor, school psychologist, and Elementary Curriulum Specialist. #BetterTogether #ASDProud
