This week, Copper Beech Elementary welcomed Lisa Papp, author/illustrator of the Madeline Finn Series. The books were inspired by therapy dogs, many of which are former shelter dogs. Her husband, illustrator Robert Papp, also shared stories of his professional journey. #ASDProud

Yesterday, fifth-grade students from ASD's seven elementary schools joined together as one Abington Class of 2030 for 5th Grade CommUNITY Day, a transition event before they all become classmates at Abington Middle School next school year. #ASDProud: A group of 8th grade students at Abington Middle School recently elected to spend their lunches reading a book called "A Most Beautiful Thing" with their school counselors, Ms. Haynes and Ms. Adam. Yesterday, the author, Arshay Cooper, joined the group for a virtual Q&A, where students could ask about the book that is a moving true story about Cooper's life growing up on Chicago’s West side, and involvement in the formation of the nation's first all-black high school rowing team.
