Our amazing guidance counselor, Mrs. Dungee, has been working with our first grade students to practice important social skills like listening, sharing, and being kind friends. We’re so thankful for the care and positivity she brings to helping our young learners grow every day! 💛

🐾🚔 Our 5th graders loved their visit from Officer Jones and his K-9 partner, Shadow! Students learned how police dogs are trained and how they help keep our community safe.

Kindergarten and second grade buddies made Thing One and Thing Two bookmarks, then enjoyed reading together. So proud of our big readers supporting our little readers! 💙✨

Mrs. McGettigan's Kindergarten loved having a special guest in their classroom last week! One of their amazing parents came in to teach us all about Lunar New Year—sharing traditions, stories, and even a few festive surprises. The children learned about the zodiac animals, and how families celebrate this joyful holiday around the world. Thank you for helping us explore and celebrate the Lunar New Year together! 🧧✨

Our third graders had a fantastic time celebrating the 103rd day of school! 🎉 Students showed off their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and school spirit. We’re 103 days smarter and still going strong! 💯📚✨

All Abington School District schools will open on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Students are to report to their bus stops or schools two hours later than their usually scheduled time. Before-school care provided by the YMCA will not operate.

Due to the incoming storm, all Abington School District schools and offices will be closed Monday, February 23, 2026.

Students and their families are invited to explore the magic of reading through engaging read-aloud sessions, creative activities, and exciting book displays. We’ll also feature the heartwarming adventure The Wild Robot by Peter Brown—a story of friendship, survival, and discovering where you belong.

The leaders of FAAD (Friends Against Alcohol and Drugs) are making a difference! 💙✨ This week, our amazing older students visited CB to share positive messages about making healthy choices. So proud of these student leaders for inspiring the next generation!

Last night, the Board of School Directors approved the 2026-2027 school year calendar, with the first day of student attendance for grades K-6 and 9 being Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, and the first day of student attendance for grades 7-8 and 10-12 being Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. Ms. Parisi creates opportunities to make ELA fun and engaging for her students. The stories and passages she shares with students are always interesting, and when Ms. Doctor and I visited this week, students taught us a few fun facts we previously did not know. We always love it when students can teach adults something new! Be sure to ask your child about what they learn each day! Hopefully, they can teach you something new, too!

Ms. Poole and Mrs. Nicholson's classes recently participated in a meaningful service project in partnership with the local nonprofit, The Giving Tree. Students learned about homelessness and hunger, building empathy and understanding along the way. They then decorated bags with colorful drawings and uplifting messages to spread kindness and encouragement. Finally, each bag was filled with a selection of snacks to be shared with individuals in need. This project gave students the opportunity to practice compassion, creativity, and community service while learning how small acts can make a big difference.

Students in Ms. Wentz’s fourth-grade class spread kindness and cheer with a special service project for The Giving Tree! ❄️ They worked together to assemble care bags to help neighbors in need—what an amazing act of generosity!

Thank you to our Facilities and Transportation Departments for their efforts in clearing snow so that we can safely reopen our schools and offices on time tomorrow! We look forward to seeing our students and staff!
