If you have a detention to serve this week, you may go to room 228 Wednesday or Thursday morning. Be there by 7:30 am OR, you may go to room 347 on Thursday afternoon only. Be there by 3:10 pm. This week, there is no detention on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Please plan accordingly to fulfill detention obligations.

Student Council is sponsoring the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are collecting canned and boxed goods to benefit families in our Abington community as the holiday season approaches. Collection locations are Ms. Cantwell's room (157), Mr. Mingacci's room (325), and the cart in the front lobby. The collection will run from 10/18 through November 10th. We thank you in advance for your support!


This week schools nationwide celebrate National School Psychology Week to highlight the critical work school psychologists do to help students thrive. This is a time to recognize and show appreciation for our school psychologists, who support students' learning and mental and behavioral health, promote positive and inclusive school climates, serve on school safety and crisis teams, and collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to improve student outcomes. #ASDProud #OneASD #SchoolPsychWeek


REMINDER: The Arts in ASD parent/guardian group meets again tonight at 7pm. This meeting will be held in the library at Abington Middle School (above the main office entrance). The meeting is open to any parents/guardians of students in grades K-12.


It's officially the month of November, which means it's time for students to be introduced to a new theme from the Abington Pledge of Character! This month's character theme is RESPONSIBILITY, with students pledging to be responsible for their actions.

RED RIBBON WEEK: Happy Red Ribbon Week! Finding healthy ways to cope with everyday life stressors can be a great opportunity to try new things. You are encouraged to break out of your familiar routine and try something new. Writing a song, practicing a new sport, or taking care of a pet are just a few ways you can demonstrate healthy life choices that will make you feel good. Tomorrow’s theme is “Our School is Drug Free” Wear Abington spirit gear.


Attention all AMS students: If you love to dance and perform, this is the club for you! The AMS Dance Team is a chance for students in Grades 6 through 8 to get moving, have fun, and meet new people. No prior dance experience is necessary. Each week, we will work on a routine that will be performed for the school. If you are interested, complete the Dance Team Interest Form. 20 students will be randomly selected. You will receive an invite for the Google Classroom after names are selected. AMS Dance Team will be held on Wednesdays from November through February.

BANDS IN THE BONEYARD:
The ASHS Marching Ghosts are hosting our annual "Bands in the Boneyard" this Saturday, October 28 in Schwarzmann Stadium. There are 5 bands performing and the event goes from 5:45-7:15 PM. The weather forecast is looking perfect for a nice fall night!

At Tuesday's Board meeting, Dr. Matthew Harris, Supervisor of Fine Arts, and Abington School District art teachers, curated the 2023-2024 Abington School District Art Exhibit in the Administration Building, and recognized the students who have created wonderful pieces of artwork and dedicated them to the building.
