Hip, hip, horray!!! Today is raffle day!!! Students, get out your SRK tickets! Every Wednesday, a raffle and ticket trade-in is held in Advisory. Students should put their name on their tickets along with the name of the teacher who gave it to them, and turn them in to their Advisory teacher if they want to play the raffle. Raffle winners receive a credit for a prize at the AMS Reward Store. Once a month, students who have 10 tickets can trade them in to their advisory teacher for a credit at the Reward Store. Book of the day time! Nine-year-old Ling is very comfortable in her life; her parents are both dedicated surgeons in the best hospital in Wuhan. But when Comrade Li, one of Mao's political officers, moves into a room in their apartment, Ling begins to witness the gradual disintegration of her world. In an atmosphere of increasing mistrust, Ling fears for the safety of her neighbors and, soon, for herself and family. Over the course of four years, Ling manages to grow and blossom, even as she suffers more horrors than many people face in a lifetime. Read all about Ling in the book Revolution is not a dinner party by Ying Chang Compestine
