Today’s Book of the Day is called Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters by  Lesley M.M. Blume

Eleven-year-old Cornelia is the daughter of two world-famous pianists— that should feel fabulous, but instead feels just plain lonely. She surrounds herself with dictionaries and other books to avoid the outside world. But when a glamorous neighbor named Virginia Somerset moves next door with her servant Patel and a French bulldog named Mister Kinyatta, Cornelia discovers that the world is a much more exciting place than she had originally thought.

The Yearbook Staff proudly presents our 2026 Yearbook Spirit Day!  Join us on January 29 for SOUND WAVES day!  Inspired by our "Sound Wave" yearbook design, SOUNDWAVES day is a day to celebrate music and musical styles. Get those crazy bell bottoms on for Disco, tie a flannel around your waist for grunge, get your cowboy gear for country, maybe some leg warmers for 80's pop!  You get the idea!  Prizes will be awarded for participation and creative costumes!  Remember, January 29 is SOUNDWAVES DAY!  And while you're thinking of your next spirit day costume, don't forget to order your 2026 Yearbook today!  The link to order can be found on the Abington Middle School Main Page!  Thanks and see you on Soundwaves day!

Breakfast surprises! We are excited to remind you that FREE breakfast is available every day.

To make breakfast even more fun, we are hosting Lucky Ticket Days. On random days, random tickets and stickers will be placed inside Grab &Go breakfast bags and on serving boats in the cafeteria.

✨ How it works:

  • Students must come down and receive breakfast

  • Some breakfasts will include a lucky ticket or sticker

  • Students who find one can redeem it for one FREE snack

Breakfast helps students start the day focused, energized, and ready to learn plus, who doesn’t love a little surprise?
