Welcome to day 4 of Red Ribbon Week!
Nurturing your mental and emotional health is a critical step in avoiding the dangers of drug use. Developing healthy coping skills can set you up for success in dealing with stress and challenging circumstances. For example, mindfulness or slowing down to pay attention to what’s going on around you at the moment, can help you create a mental “breathing space” for dealing with distressing emotions and help you to resist the temptation to explore harmful substances. To practice mindfulness, you can close your eyes and focus on your breathing, write down 10 things you feel grateful for or draw a picture of a favorite place or memory
For tomorrow, our last day celebrating Red Ribbon Week, we are ‘Saying Boo to Drugs’ so we can scare away bad choices and embrace healthy habits. Wear your school appropriate Halloween costumes!
