Welcome to day 3 of Red Ribbon Week!
Today’s theme is “Twin Day” and we love to see all of the participation throughout the building. Saying no to drugs is easier with a friend. Did you know that many famous athletes, musicians, and actors choose to stay drug-free and encourage others to do the same? Simone Biles, Stephen Curry and Taylor Swift all focus on staying healthy, supporting staying disciplined and avoiding harmful substances. You don’t have to be an Olympic champion or a professional musician to find your natural high. Activities like listening to music, or laughing with friends release a chemical called dopamine, give us a natural high.
Think about what you enjoy and make an effort to spend some time doing it everyday! This will help you to naturally feel good while staying drug free.
Tomorrow, we are going to “Color your life drug free” by wearing bright, rainbow, or tie dye clothing.

Halloween Costumes: If you will be dressing up for Halloween in school on Friday, please follow the directions listed below.
Inappropriate costumes or accessories, such as fake weapons and blood, are not acceptable.
ALL costume preparations are to be completed at home. (No dressing or applying of makeup or colored hairspray etc. once students arrive at school).
No full-face masks or weapons/lookalike weapons including but not limited to the following: nunchucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc. are allowed on campus at any time.
Short-cropped and low-cut tops, which expose one’s stomach or chest and/or extremely short shorts/skirts are not allowed. Underwear used as outerwear is not allowed. Please review our schools’ dress code in the handbook for more details about the dress code.

RPG club's next meeting will be this Wednesday, October 29 in Commons A. The meeting will be after school and will go until 5 pm. See you there!

Any 7th or 8th grade student, male or female, who would like to join the wrestling team for the winter season should attend an interest meeting on Wednesday, October 29th in room P102 after school at 3:00. Interested students should also join the Google classroom with the code 6Q2EHACL

Today’s Book of the Day is The Game of Sunken Places by M.T. Anderson. When Brian and Gregory receive an invitation to stay at a distant relative's strange mansion in rural Vermont, they should know better than to go. But they go anyway. Why not? Once there, they stumble upon The Game of Sunken Places, a board game that takes them into a mysterious adventure. Soon the boys are dealing with trolls with attitude, warring kingdoms and more. Attention 8th grade boys interested in trying out for the basketball team - There will be a mandatory informational meeting after school on Wednesday, November 12th, from 3:15-4:00 in Commons A. Attention 8th-grade Students. This is the last week to sign up for the Tuesday Night Blue Mountain Ski and Snowboard trips to Blue Mountain.
