During #CaringandKindnessWeek in February, Rydal students' word of the month was "compassion". Kindergarten students worked together to sew blankets that were donated to the NICU at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. This week, they received a thank you from the staff there, along with a photo of their blankets in use. #ASDProud #ASDServiceLearning

Abington Senior High hosted an Employer Showcase yesterday, which included short presentations, Q&A sessions, and open time for networking. The event allowed students to explore different career paths and interact with professionals in a variety of fields, learning about the skills, qualifications, and education requirements for different jobs so that they can make informed decisions about their futures. it also gave employers the opportunity to identify potential candidates and establish relationships with students who may be interested in internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions. #ASDPathways

Did you know? Today is National Kindergarten Day! Elementary schools across ASD, including Roslyn Elementary, are hosting kindergarten orientations this week to introduce incoming students and their families to our schools. 1st and 2nd grade students at Rydal Elementary had the opportunity to participate in the school's drama club! Students worked hard over the past few months to learn the art of acting before putting on their culminating event, a production of Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham".

Yesterday, Ms. Hansen and Ms. Bartlett took a group of students to the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 Training Facility, where they had an opportunity to learn about the benefits of getting involved in the building trades, and also acquired some real-life experience in the hands-on portion of the workshop. The students learned about careers in stone masonry, tiling, bricklaying, and historic refinishing, but they also learned about the camaraderie that can be found in this career, as well as the importance of following your heart and working in a profession that you're passionate about! #ASDProud #ASDPathways

Thank you to Ernst & Young and ASHS alumnus, Matt Magida ('03), for partnering with our current students to offer micro-internship opportunities as part of our new Pathways Program. We appreciate their continued support in helping our students gain hands-on experience. #ASDProud
