The Abington Educational Foundation and Abington School District administration have made a decision to postpone the AEF 30th Anniversary Carnival, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 28th, through Sunday, October 1st. The District is in the process of receiving bids for a new security system for large public events, which will not arrive in time for the Carnival. This desire to have ample time to implement enhanced security measures—coupled with the challenges this weekend’s weather has presented AEF’s carnival operator in following their field setup schedule that was set to start on Sunday—was what led to this joint decision.

A favorite weekly tradition returned to Abington Schools earlier this month: High-Five Fridays! High-Five Friday is a weekly initiative started by the Abington Township Police Department in order to increase positive interactions with students in the Abington School District. Every Friday, with the exception of a pandemic hiatus, officers visit our elementary school buildings to greet students in the morning with a fist-bump or high-five. #ASDProud #HighFiveFridays

Start with Hello Week starts today in schools across the District! At AMS, students were welcomed to the building with a special performance from M4, while at Roslyn Elementary, students were greeted by the Abington Police. The aim of Start with Hello Week is to grow an empathetic and inclusive community to help students and their peers feel more connected. It also ties to this month's Abington Pledge of Character theme of "Inclusion". #ASDProud #AbingtonPledgeofCharacter
