Pravin and Aavni, entering 2nd grade and kindergarten at Willow Hill Elementary, visited London this summer. They rode the London Eye, toured Tower Hill and visited Buckingham and Kensington palaces! SummerinASD




This summer Ms. Goldberg, AMS Librarian, held up the pyramids in Egypt, crossed the Equator in Kenya, visited gorillas in Uganda, rode in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti in Tanzania, and swam with turtles in Zanzibar, where she also spent two weeks planting mangrove trees and teaching local youth about the importance of caring for the environment. #SummerinASD


Lucas and Oliver Pinkhasov (4th grade and kindergarten at Rydal) spent several weeks touring Portugal! They visited beautiful beaches, FC Porto stadium, Sintra, and Sagres, known as known as "the end of the world", which is the most southwesterly point in Europe. #SummerinASD





Harper and Audrey Ibbetson, second and forth graders at Copper Beech Elementary, wrapped up Summer 2024 with a trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon! #SummerinASD


Leo DiCicco, second grader at McKinley Elementary, spent a day volunteering at a local non-profit that helps families with sick children. He was so excited and can’t wait to continue volunteering! #SummerinASD

This is an update to inform you that PECO has restored power to the Abington School District Administration Building, which means that all District phones and systems will be fully operational again tomorrow, August 20th. We thank you for your understanding of the situation!

As a result of PECO work occurring along Highland Avenue, the Abington School District Administration Building is without power today, August 19th. This outage is impacting the District’s phone systems and servers. Please contact any staff members via email during this time.

Jessica Jaglal (grade 7, AMS) and her sister Olivia (grade 5, Willow Hill) visited Incline Railway in Chattanooga, TN where they rode the steepest passenger railway; Jekyll Island, GA, where they visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Center; and Legoland in Orlando, FL. #SummerinASD

This summer, the Abington School District Leadership Team has been reading the book, "The Anxious Generation", by social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt. The team will discuss the book and their learnings during their upcoming Leadership Workshop later this month. #SummerinASD





ASHS rising 12th grader Jolene Frey had the opportunity to meet Vice President Kamala Harris during her recent visit to Philadelphia. #SummerinASD


Highland Elementary first grader Liam Shotwell spent a week in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. Following a gondola ride to the top of Loon mountain, he climbed through steep and narrow glacial caves with his cousins and completed an American Ninja Warrior course! #SummerinASD
