
First graders in Ms. Kleban’s class at Roslyn Elementary read the story, “Balloons Over Broadway”, which covered the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students brainstormed, designed, and even created their very own “floats” before the holiday! #ASDProud

Yesterday, representatives of various sectors of the offices of Montgomery County spoke to ASHS seniors about career opportunities that are available to them through the county — some of which do not require a college degree and allow for a great deal of professional growth. #ASDProud






Copper Beech Elementary kindergarten students hosted a Friendsgiving celebration the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. The kindergarteners enjoyed sharing snacks, making crafts, and creating a huge Friendsgiving banner together! #ASDProud








Thank you to our STRIVE students and Fruit Ninjas from Abington Senior High School for helping to load produce donations from the Administration Building to give to the Willow Grove Baptist Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving. Mr. Rick Beyerle, the food pantry's coordinator, told students their efforts benefit approximately 200 families in our immediate area. #ASDProud #DontWasteDonate









Last week Overlook hosted Title I Families' Night. Students in grades K-2 and their families participated in ELA and Math workshops led by the reading specialists, school counselor, school psychologist, and Elementary Curriulum Specialist. #BetterTogether #ASDProud






Last week, ASHS 9th and 11th grade Fitness and Wellness classes hosted Career Pathway Industry Partners. Thank you to the industry professionals who dedicated their time to sharing their career experiences and advice with our students. #ASDProud






About 30 parents and guardians joined Dr. Morgan and Rydal Administrators to discuss the book, "The Anxious Generation". The group explored strategies to help students and families navigate effective use of technology, and guide students toward more free play. #ASDProud






First Graders at Roslyn Elementary held their first “Science Fair” for American Education Week. Each class presented their “Perfect Day” Weather Project while rotating through a reading station and a station to create-your-own class weather mural! #ASDProud

McKinley Elementary School opened its 2012 time capsule last week, an event that takes place every 12 years, coinciding with the graduation of the students who originally buried it. Current K-5 students also had the special opportunity to contribute new items to the time capusle, which will be opened in 2036 when the current kindergarteners are high school seniors! #ASDProud

Students in STEM classes at Abington Middle School were visited by The Physics Bus last week, a traveling field trip that provides students with the opportunity to experiment with everyday household objects.

At Tuesday's meeting of the Board of School Directors, Dr. Alice Swift recognized Abington Senior High School paraprofessional, athletics coach, and Class of 1970 alumnus, Mr. Bill Neely, on being inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Montco Chapter. Mr. Neely framed a newspaper clipping of his high school track team, which was coached by the legendary Mr. Jack Armstrong, the namesake to the high school's Athletics Hall of Fame. #ASDProud #ASDAthletics
