Registration (K-12)
Procedures for Registering New Students in Abington Schools
All students new to the District must go through the registration process, even if other students in the household currently are registered as District students. This includes students entering kindergarten (see below for more info).
Pre-registration of students to the Abington School District is accessible online for any District resident.
FAMILIES NEW TO ABINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT – Please click here to access the registration portal
EXISTING ABINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT FAMILIES ENROLLING A NEW STUDENT – Please login to your Skyward Family Access portal and click the “New Student Online Enrollment” option on the left-hand menu. (During the month of August while Skyward is closed, new student online registration is still accessible through Family Access.)
Please note that submitting the pre-registration information online does not guarantee your student has met the requirements for admittance to Abington School District. After submitting this online form, you will be contacted to complete the process. When you are contacted, you will be informed of any documents you may need to fulfill the registration requirements. Failure to provide sufficient documentation will delay the enrollment of your student.
If you do not have access to complete the pre-registration process online, please contact the main office of your child’s zoned elementary school or the appropriate secondary building for further direction. If there are questions concerning attendance area, consult the following Residence Zones map and call the Office of Child Accounting at 215-881-2569.
Students with an IEP who are in need of special education services should be registered through the Student Services Department; please call 215-881-2549 for an appointment, which will occur at the Administration Building (970 Highland Ave., Abington, PA 19001). The student’s school and the Department of Student Services shall refer special enrollment considerations to the Board Secretary in the Central Administration Building.
For a detailed list of registration requirements and corresponding forms, please read the Superintendent’s Administrative Procedure Regarding Registration Procedures.
Kindergarten Registration
Children whose fifth birthday occurs on or before September 1 of a given year may enter kindergarten that same September.
Kindergarten registration begins during the month of February for the following school year, and remains ongoing. Check with your school for exact dates and times. Once registered, you will receive information about a Kindergarten Orientation.
